Converted from a traditional Devon Roundhouse (threshing barn), the Gallery is octagonal in shape, with a mix of old stone and white painted walls. The floor is tiled in grey slate. A massive tree trunk, used to turn the threshing wheels, acts as the main roof support beam. Careful consideration has been given to both lighting and general flexibility, so the space can be used to display both art and craft to maximum effect. The Gallery is available for private exhibitions and functions (art or craft based only) but otherwise, all studio holders are encouraged to display their work and invite customers and clients to visit. The Gallery hosts an annual Summer and Christmas Open Studio, showcasing and selling the work of the studio occupiers.
THE GALLERY is usually open from Tuesday to Saturday from 10.30 am to 4.30 pm or by arrangement.
